Overall, I find Sesame's products to be very innovative and exciting, these lifts provide a very elegant solution to a very serious problem that we as a society must address. It is usually extremely difficult to incorporate disabled access measures into listed buildings however bespoke products like this offer a much more realistic approach to disabled access whilst respecting the nature of listed buildings and being much less aesthetically intrusive than other methods such as ramps and contemporary lift systems. I will be keeping an eye on this company and looking forward to more innovation in the realm of disabled access.
I consider Sesame Access as a perfect example of a company that strives for innovation and social impact. Their British-made lifts are seamlessly merging with the aesthetic characters of any listed buildings. Their weekly CPD webinar on RIBA CPD07 Inclusive Environments (one hour long) is excellent – very informative and I learnt a lot about access for all.
