We have recently designed and manufactured a new access lift. The Sesame Traversing Lift has minimum impact to the building structure. This access lift is for internal use only, unless we supply manual lightweight barriers that staff members can insert if the lift is to be travelled on by standing users. This access lift is great if there is little pit depth available and if the lift doesn't need to be installed into a staircase.
Minimum horizontal pit length
N/A
Minimum platform size
1450mm x 1085mm
Maximum rise
500mm or 750mm
Minimum pit depth below lower landing
155mm
Features
The Lift
For internal use only.
The Traversing Lift uses a unique wheelstop mechanism that prevents wheelchairs wheels from rolling off the platform as it sits within the shallow pit depth. Please see On Lift Barriers for more information.
We have two options for this lift:-
For a rise up to 500mm the platform size is 1450mm x 1085mm with a traversing reach over the stairs of 750mm/900mm
For a rise up to 750mm the platform size is 1624mm x 1098mm with a traversing reach over the stairs of 1200mm
Both lift tables can be made to accept up to 22mm of cladding.
This traversing lift requires the smallest amount of modification to the buildings fabric out of all of the Sesame product range.
The Upper Landing Barrier
The Sesame Traversing Lift does not require an upper landing barrier as the stairs remain in tact during the operation of the lift.
Please see Upper Landing Barriers for more information.
User Type
The Sesame Traversing Lift is for seated users only as the wheelstop only prevents wheels from rolling off the platform. We can supply manual lightweight barriers that staff members can insert if the lift is to be travelled on by standing users. Please see What barriers do I need on the Sesame chair lift? for more information.
System Requirements
240v single phase power supply form a T10A fuse.
Variations to the Traversing Lift
If the platform lift protrudes too far beyond the bottom step riser, then The Sesame Kensington Stairlift can be used as the platform starts at the top step riser rather than the bottom step riser.
