The London-based team of designers and manufacturers are one of five firms nominated in the Small Company of the Year category, following intense scrutiny by an accomplished panel of judges charged with championing innovative engineering in the UK.
The British Engineering Excellence Awards demonstrate the technical prowess and diversity of engineering design on offer across the country while also recognising the achievements of those organizations succeeding on the global stage. Now in their fourth year, the awards emphasise innovation and ingenuity, allowing smaller companies to compete on an equal footing with their larger counterparts. They are an incentive to the design engineering industry, fostering world-class business practises and act as a benchmark of excellence for the wider engineering community.

A completely new rising barrier system designed for a project at The Institute of Civil Engineers building formed an integral part of the Sesame Access awards nod, showing the brand’s ability to transform its design process to better suit client needs. As part of its wheelchair platform lift installation process, Sesame engineers were able to replace a hand made bracket with a standardised laser cut alternative, stress tested to the minimum possible thickness. The resultant product significantly reduced engineering requirements, lowering costs and saving 45 build hours per project.
