We designed and manufactured a Wembley Stairlift for an art office development building in Manchester. This stairlift proves access for wheelchair and standing users and therefore is a great addition to the building. The Wembley Stairlift is a low rise lift for travel up to a height of 200mm. It can act as part of the upper landing, a step, or it can sit flush with lower landing level.
This building is a 125,000 sq ft state-of-the-art office development funded and owned by Legal & General. It is also a very accessible building due to having our Sesame Access Wembley Lift and 3 x 17 person and 1 x 21 person passenger lifts.

Features
The Lift
The Wembley Stair Lift does not require a wheelstop as the rise of the lift is less than 200mm. Please see On Lift Barriers for more information.
The lift table can be made to accept any cladding, the thicker the cladding the deeper the pit depth.
Nominal Platform dimensions for this lift can vary due to site requirements, however they have minimum dimensions of:
1400mm (l) x 900mm (w) x 0-200mm (h)
Please click on The Lifting Actuator link for more information on the mechanism used to raise and lower the stair lift.
The upper landing barrier
As the rise is less than 200mm with the Wembley Stair Lift there is not a requirement for an upper landing barrier.
Please click on the following link for more information on the Upper Landing Barriers
User type
Wembley Stair Lift is for wheelchair users only, for information as to why this is please click on the following on lift barriers link. Non wheelchair users are often presented with a wheelchair to travel whilst seated on this wheelchair platform stair lift.
System requirements
The Wembley Stair Lift can come with a solid stainless steel skirt to conceal the workings of the lift, or the under lift panel can be made ready to accept any material. Please see Concealing the underside of the lift for more information.
For details on the power supply please see the lift power supply.
For general details on the pit depth please see the lift pit.
If the surrounding area presents a crush zone the lift table can be fitted with safety edges to detect an obstruction. Please see Crush hazards surrounding the moving lift for more information.
Please see The Sesame Stair Lift Controls for more information on the controls for this style of lift.
Variations to the Wembley Stair Lift
The permanently fixed on-lift button post can be upgraded to a rising button post that rises through the lift platform when the stairs retract. The post then retracts completely out of site when not in use. An example for the rising button post can be seen here: Knightsbridge Stair Lift.
The permanently fixed on-lift button postt can also be replaced with a removable hand held post as seen here: Kensington Stairlift in London 1052
If the pit depth is an issue the Sesame Thames Stair Lift sits within a pit depth of 160mm + cladding thickness. This lift can also travel up to 999mm.
If the rise is to travel more than 200mm then the Waterloo Lift allows for a wheelstop that prevents wheelchairs wheels from rolling off the stair lift.
