Interview with Michaël Jérémiasz

This interview will explore and uncover the difference in quality of life for Michaël since getting his platform lift. The People's Lift was designed with wheelchair users homes and affordability in mind. From this we designed an outstanding product which is great for private residences whilst being at our lowest price point. This lift may also be eligible for funding from your local council, funding will vary.

Before

Michaël Jérémiasz was looking for a 'sexy lift' in November 2020. Our french agent Yann contacted Michaël to show him our products to see if they suited his requirements. Michaël loved our products and style. As a result, we decided to develop a new product called "The People's Lift". This would be ideal for his needs and could be used as an excellent example for wheelchair users who are currently looking to make their homes accessible but stylish.

After

Throughout 2021 Sesame Access worked hard to design, manufacture, and install the lift into Michaël's home. When digging the pit and installing the lift it was vital to ensure Michaël could still live comfortably and leave or enter his home at any time. Our engineers worked closely with his family to minimise any disturbance. In December 2021 the lift was fully operational and Michaël could finally benefit from his beautiful and 'sexy' lift.

The Interview - After the lift being installed

1. Do you feel The People's Lift has benefited your everyday life living in London?

Yes, I can live in a house. A normal house and not a modern flat. It means I can now essentially live where I want.

"I can now essentially live where I want"

2. How has the lift affected you emotionally?

I am not sure I would go that far haha, but no I am proud to have something convenient. Stannah stairlifts are big and ugly but this is often the only option. However, this lift is seamless and reliable.

3. Talk about the process of installing the lift - was it convenient?

Easy. Every time I needed to go out I could still use the temporary ramp they gave me. The engineers work around you because they care. You can see they care about you in their enthusiasm and you can tell what they build means a lot to them and the outcome is important.

4. What was your initial reaction when first using it?

I was like a child with a new toy. It works very well and is very smooth. I tried it in multiple ways, with my son on my lap, taking up groceries, suitcases etc. I wanted to see the uses it had.

5. What have your friends and family said?

They love it! They said it was very unique and they had never seen one before. They also said it fits my personality as it is sophisticated. They were happy to use it themselves.

6. Would you recommend this product to other wheelchair users?

Yes, it makes you more independent. A ramp is useful but you can not carry groceries while using a ramp.

7. Do you think this is a successful solution for peoples houses?

Yes. It should be recommended to as many wheelchair users as possible. We shouldn't be stuck to living where we can, we should be able to live where we want. Modern technology can allow us to be like others! It makes it so much easier than a ramp.

The People's Lift In Action

We want to thank Michaël for working with us on this incredible product and campaign. We also look forward to working with other wheelchair users who are seeking a seamless experience when entering their home.
